Out of Sequence

I start something, then stop
I check the time, forget it immediately
The message loads halfway, then clears
I reread the same line, three times

I stand up, sit back down
The room shifts, slightly, or I do
I follow a thought until it breaks
Pick up another midway through

There’s a noise that doesn’t repeat
I wait for it... anyway

I reach for something that isn’t there
My hand stays open too long
Nothing finishes in the right order
I leave things where they stop
