I start something
Then stop

I check the time
Forget it
Immediately

The message loads
Halfway
Then clears

I reread
The same line
Three times

I stand up
Sit back down

The room shifts
Slightly
Or I do

I follow a thought
Until it breaks

Pick up another
Midway
Through

There’s a noise
That doesn’t repeat

I wait
For it
Anyway

I reach for something
That isn’t there

My hand stays open
Too long

Nothing finishes
In the right order

I leave things
Where they stop
