As Long As You're Still Here

Proximity

As Long As You're Still Here

She knows what she is. He stayed when she asked.

What that opened had no framework. The self-knowledge doesn't vanish here, it becomes the condition that makes closeness possible. Moving toward him anyway, within those limits, with full awareness of them.

She finds proximity. Not love. She is too precise for that word; and too honest. Attention, presence measured in small fractions. The shoulder almost touching. The silence stretched thin between two people who have both decided, separately, not to step back.

It doesn't hold. Not a pull away. Not a jump. Just the ground going.

It isn't love / It's attention / It isn't ours / It's happening / And that's not tragedy / That's structure

She got very close. Close enough that it feels like something. Not close enough to hold.
